2023 mim_c Fall Symposium

Our UW mim_c Fall Microsymposium will be held from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm on November 15th, 2023, at a UW main campus venue TBD.

Agenda and content
We have an exciting program planned for this November’s meeting. Similar to our May event, this Microsymposium will include a mix of scientific presentations and mim_c organizational updates.

Below is a list of confirmed speakers and their talk titles:

Dale Whittington – “MALDI Biotyper - a mass spec approach for detecting and identifying bacteria”
Kim Dill-McFarland – “WISDOM: a growing bioinformatics resource at UW”
Hannah Ratner – “An essential electron transport chain sensitizes a gut symbiont to interbacterial antagonism”
Sid Venkatesh – “Gut microbial metabolism of pharmacologically active N-acylethanolamines”
Brook Nunn – “Redesigning traditional proteomics approaches to identify who is doing what in complex microbial communities”
Kelsey Jesser – “Pathogen and gut microbiome characteristics associated with diarrhea symptoms and carriage of diarrheagenic E. coli in northern Ecuador”

The UW main campus venue for this event is TBD, and will depend in part on registration numbers. Delicious food will be provided!
